You don't have to like the person you were last week, last year, last decade, or even yesterday.
In fact, one of the keys to my growth has been my hatred for the person I used to be, and working every day to become a person I can stand to look in the mirror every day.
I am often riddled with disgust for my former self. I hated myself until I was about 32 years old. Now, I moderately dislike myself, and I work every day to polish out the parts of myself I don't like, and accentuate the parts that I do.
Nobody expects you to be a perfect human when you start your journey, or even when you end it.
If you can just be .01% better than yesterday, heck even .000001% better than last week, the progress will be noticeable over time.
If you're anything like me, you will always hate the person you were, but you don't have to hate the person you will become.
