Thanks for the tips. As a marketer myself I get your way of thinking and approach and it's working. At my job, our company newsletter switched from monthly to bi-monthly from my suggestion and our content was richer for it without impacting our open rate. This was a great post. Very helpful for a newbie like me, thanks! 😊
You're so welcome Tania! That's great to hear that you're getting more engagement from the bi-monthly newsletters. It's all about the content, right and making sure it's interesting, right? Thanks again for reading!
This is so relatable. Acknowledging my limited time and capacity, and posting only when the content is ready at the pace that I'm most comfortable with, is what makes me enjoy writing.
Again, great tips and great article recommendations! I'm off to work my way through the recommended articles in the first and second part of this article. I think I'll start out with a weekly substack at first and if it gets tiresome I'll scale down to posting bi-monthly. Frankly, the main problem I have is knowing when to just post my articles, instead of tweaking and tweaking so it can be be perfect. Thanks for your article! With this, I know how to look out for substack burnout before it causes irreparable damage.
Oh gosh. I hear ya. The never ending editing rabbit hole. At some point you just have to say, “ok this is good enough” and then schedule them. Good luck and thank you for commenting! :)
Great read. I’ve been writing twice a week since February and at times it’s a grind. I’ve been thinking of scaling back. Definitely helps to hear about your journey.
Thanks Derek! Twice a week... WOW. I sometimes post once a month when I get super busy. I try to not force it anymore, that kind of stress just isn't worth it. Try testing different ways of how much content you put out. Also, if your posts are on the longer side, consider cutting them into multiple posts (like I did with this one!).
Thank you Tapan! I enjoyed putting it together and had so much more to say, if you can believe it. I will probably continue this conversation. Seems like people were interested in this topic!

Most importantly, it keeps me writing.
Totally! When it starts to feel stressful or like a chore, that's when you aren't enjoying the process anymore. Thank you for your comment! :)

Love that you listened to your body and trusted that! And congratulations on 500 subscribers. I am 5 away from hitting that mark myself 🎉😊✨
Hi Christine, thank you for your kind thoughts, and congrats to you too!! :D
This was such a great read! Especially, around other writers going viral via notes and trying to figure out what they were doing, it struck a chord.
