In November of 2017, I started a journey of scaling my writing business. I had been doing alright before then, but I wanted to have a base of readers which could withstand a $2.99 price point instead of a $40 price point.
That takes a lot more people.
I ran my first real giveaway (I had one small one before) on 11/6/17, and it got 3350 subscribers. In one week.
On that date, I had 7782 subscribers. This came from Instafreebie and Bookfunnel promotions and opened my eyes to how big a mail list could get. This was a huge amount more than I had just a few months before. On July 26, 2017, I had 2705 emails that I had accumulated painstakingly, by hand, over the previous three years.
So, in one week, I was able to gather more emails than I had gotten in the previous 3 years combined.
Between November 2017 and November 2018, I accumulated over 125,000 emails, grown my list to 50k, twice, and been able to have my biggest Kickstarter launch ever.
