Outward success, inward turbulence
Sometimes, maybe even often, maybe even most of the time, it looks much different than it is behind the scenes.
Hi friends,
By all measures, this has been the most outwardly successful year of my career.
My newsletter has more than doubled where it was a year ago, we had several amazing Kickstarters this year, we have some really cool books happening, we launched a really awesome podcast, I launched a daily with some really cool advertisers, we're soon to announce so amazing partnerships, and we've expanded our conference.
I mean look at these numbers. Killing it, right?
Yet, behind the scenes things don’t look so great. Late last year, my business partner and I said the most important thing we could do this year was get to 40-50k subscribers. Writer MBA wasn’t in a place they could light money on fire to grow, but The Author Stack is my own thing, and so I decided that would be my project for the year.
