If a tree falls in your front yard...
I can tell you from personal experience that it absolutely makes a sound.
Last night, a tree branch fell in our front yard, and pretty much mean our whole front yard. I tried to take pictures of it from different angles, but it was just a mass of limbs and leaves.
It was an eyesore that blocked our front stoop and crushed our mailbox. It even brought together the neighbors who I rarely see, especially together. On a different tangent, I learned that we are pretty antisocial and didn’t even know the names of many of our closest neighbors.
I also learned that as much as I want to be better, I don’t want to do things differently. Since we are both chronically ill, it’s hard for us to do things like host parties or entertain later than a late lunch. So, while I want to want to want to change, I know nothing will.
Okay, back to the tree limb. The bad news was that it fell without any warning, and it looks perfectly healthy. The good news was that it didn’t fall on our car, our house, or any of us (though my wife was outside less than two minutes before).
