A great collection of business and life advice. I really appreciated the exploration of different approaches for finding new customers. Thanks very much for sharing such a comprehensive article! Love it.
Thank you for the pointer to this post! You’ve given me so much to think about, not only regarding writing, but also regarding other aspects of work, teaching, collaborations, and energy patches. Subscribed. :-) Are you and Monica thinking about overlaps with Meyers-Briggs types (NF, NT, SP, SJ)? I imagine that I see some, though they are not exact, and the total # of types is not the same.
awesome! No, we are not planning any overlapping with anything else. We love enneagrams and Clifton strength and Myers Briggs is great too, but right now we are just gathering the initial data to put it in book form as it’s own thing.
Very sensible. As you say (and experience teaches me, too), it’s important to lay a strong base. Connections later. My busy Forest is sending squirrel messengers from tree to tree. :-)
Possibly. I did seem like there were a lot. Substack did claim that this was going to be a 30 minute read, and I found that they tend to underestimate.
That said, I couldn't tell you for sure that I read the virtual conference one. I feel like I skipped it on the basis that it was not something that I was ever going to do
I also just checked on the app and it allowed me to go out and come back in, so it might be an issue with the app maybe? IDK. I'm sorry it's happened either way.
I do remember the the first two being a slog to get through. The last one is the one introducing author ecosystems, right? That was definitely a marathon. But I recall that Substack called that one a 24 minute read
IDK. This is how long I write. I'm sorry you don't like the length. If you have problems with the tech, then that's one thing, but I'm not going to be writing shorter anytime soon. I understand if that doesn't fit into your reading habit, but I have no intention of cutting back.
Also, you can leave on the app and come back where you were. I just did it, but I get it if you think it's too long. I don't agree. I am on Substack to write the way I want about the things that interest me.

Yay! You’re welcome!

I have to say, this one is too long. Or at least, too long for Substack where I can't stop and come back to it later without losing my place
thats weird. It's way shorter than my virtual conference piece. i wonder if it's all the linkouts.

It's about the same length as these articles. Did you have issues reading any of these in the same way?

I have a 15,000 word one coming up in a couple weeks that works fine for me so I'm nervous now.
