Thank you for sharing this post, Russell. Coincidentally, I've been writing about the relationship between a mischievous kitten and her human. It's a parody that has extended to five parts so far and It gives me great satisfaction to write.

Sounds like a delightful series! 😊

This really was at least 90% Beth. She came up with the idea and wrote it up. I did some light editing and just leapt on the chance to work with her, which I hope to do many more times :)

Such a great story, thanks for sharing, Beth and Russell! I love how Beth invited people's interest with something cute and fun. Gamification is also really interesting to consider. A really positive way to approach marketing!

Thanks for sharing this! I’ve only been on Substack for a short time and while I’m subscribed to Beth’s substack and have been reading her more recent posts I had no idea this is how she got the ball rolling. How fun and inspiring!

Beth and Russell, I loved this! So much here resonated with me. In particular, the idea that if you're not having fun, your readers almost certainty aren't either. And the reminders to spend plenty of quiet time outside, and to stop overthinking everything, are ones I always need!

Cheers to sneaky kittens.

YES!!! I got the same from it, honestly. Like, I know marketing can be fun and also that you should spend time doing quiet time things, but it's like every time I remember it, the notion flies out of my head again.

Same, 100%!

I am taking this as a sign to go for a walk now. Bundling up to brave the wind as we speak!
