Debrief of our $3,972 Bulletins at the End of the World Kickstarter campaign
We did a campaign, and here is what I thought about it.
Hi,
I predicted Bulletins at the End of the World would raise about $3,500 and it overperformed by a little more than 10% above that, which means it will just barely do better than break even on costs.
This one was expensive because I produced an audiobook for it, which I’ve never done before for this one. Even though my last campaign had an audiobook, this one was recorded first.
What I didn't predict is that this campaign would only run for 10 days. However, after pushing it to my list for a month prior to the campaign, it wasn't getting any traction.
Even though I sent 4 emails out about this book, we only ended up with 89 followers by launch, which is the worst I can ever remember having, especially when I've had a full pre-launch for something.
Here are the four email I sent. They were sent to unopens the Friday morning after they went to evertyone.
